Events Calendar FAQ

Second Life Event Questions

Answers to common questions about SLT, SLURLs, event updates, audio streams, and submitting performances.

What does SLT mean?

SLT means Second Life Time. It follows Pacific Time and is commonly used when scheduling events throughout Second Life.

What is an SLURL?

An SLURL is a link to a specific location in Second Life. Opening it through a supported Second Life viewer allows you to visit or teleport to the event destination.

How often is the calendar updated?

The Virtual Music Network event calendar refreshes automatically throughout the day. Event details can still change, so confirm the listing shortly before showtime.

Why isn’t an event appearing?

Events may be excluded when they have expired, do not contain a confirmed Second Life map link, fall outside the current date range, or have not yet been submitted to the source feed.

Why can’t I hear the performer?

Check that parcel music is enabled in your Second Life viewer. Also verify your audio volume, media permissions, and selected output device.

Can performers and venues submit events?

Yes. Performers, venue owners, managers, and event organizers may contact Virtual Music Network with the event title, performer, venue, date, time in SLT, description, promotional image, and confirmed SLURL.

Do I need a virtual-reality headset?

No. A virtual-reality headset is not required to attend Second Life live music events.
